Prague, Czech Republic, September 30th – Bohemia Interactive, an award winning independent development studio and creators of the genre defining military simulator games Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and Arma 2, are proud to announce completion of full acquisition of development teams Altar Games (located in Brno, Czech republic), Black Element Software and Centauri Production (both located in Prague). All four original development studios will continue operating both individually and cooperatively on various projects, as parts of Bohemia Interactive.

Bohemia Interactive is well known for its military simulator games such as Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and the military simulator of 2009 Arma 2. The recently acquired development teams bring with them a wealth of talented and experienced professionals in strategy, action, RPG and adventure genres. Altar Games known for its strategy titles Original War and the UFO Trilogy (UFO: Aftermath, UFO: Aftershock and UFO: Afterlight); Black Element have a great sense for action as shown in games Shade: Wrath of Angels and Alpha Prime; Centauri Production are talented authors that focus on adventure titles such as Memento Mori as well as games for children or family games. This important step elevates Bohemia into one of the biggest independent development teams in the region.

IDEA Games continue as partner in charge of business development, marketing, PR and legal services for enlarged Bohemia Interactive.

Development team formed in Brno, Czech Republic, from industry professionals, who worked in the gaming industry for many years and participated in development of renowned PC titles, such as Original War - an RTS published worldwide by Virgin Interactive, UFO series (UFO: Aftermath and it's sequels UFO: Aftershock released in 2005 and UFO: Afterlight released in 2007) and puzzle games Fish Fillets 1&2.

About Black Element Studio

Black Element is an experienced game development company established in 2000 in Prague, Czech Republic. Among their released games are action packed titles such as Shade: Wrath of Angels released in 2004 and Alpha Prime released in 2007. The studio has previously cooperated with Bohemia Interactive on development of ArmA: Queen's Gambit. The team is currently working on Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, an action game with strategy elements.

Established in 2000 in Prague, Czech Republic, Centauri Production is a well experienced game development studio formed by industry veterans. Among their released games are adventure titles such as Fairy Tale about Father Frost, Gooka: Mystery of Janatris, interactive projects Ferdy the Ant, 4 Leaf Clovers, and recently released Memento Mori. Centauri Production is also active in the production of multimedia applications and presentations, software for movie and animation studios.
