Blockbuster announces US videogame expansion
Rental giant rolls out retail stock across North American branches to expand its business
Blockbuster Entertainment has announced plans to roll out an expansion of its videogame business across all its corporate owned US stores.
The American rental giant has shipped out retail games and hardware for Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's gaming platforms.
The expansion will also increase the number of videogame titles offered as part of the company's rental service.
"We're committed to offering a full assortment of everything gamers want in our stores - hardware, accessories and retail and rental games across all platforms, including Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS," said Rod Murray, Blockbuster's vice-president of games merchandising.
The company also plans a special section in stores for videogames, as well as special offers bundling games, hardware and Blu-ray movies.
