Flying up to Dundee to see if they can help out at Realtime Worlds, the struggling Scottish dev.
2010 Aug 18 LEAMINGTON SPA, UK Four senior executives from Blitz Games Studios are en route to show their support for Realtime Worlds, which has recently had 200 jobs placed in question. Blitz have been in touch with John Duthie, Realtime Worlds’ Head of HR, and organised a meeting room at the Apex Hotel, all day Thursday (19th August) and Friday morning. Blitz’s Studio Development Group, who cover all art, design, management and technical disciplines, will be available to talk to Realtime Worlds staff about Blitz and the employment opportunities available.
As a founding-member of TIGA and passionate about the whole of the UK games industry Philip Oliver, Blitz’s CEO and Co-founder, will be continuing to lobby the UK government for support in the face of current economical challenge and oversees subsidies. He says: "We know that Realtime Worlds has some fantastically talented people and were very sorry to hear the news as it broke late last week. We think Realtime Worlds staff will be pleasantly surprised at the opportunities we can offer them and look forward to talking with them."
