UK-based independent games developer Blitz Games has announced the appointment of its 150th staff member and announced plans to expand its workforce by an additional 25 per cent over the next six months.
Audio designer Gerard Gourley takes the honour of becoming the 150th employee, bringing with him more than 15 years experience in creating and composing music and sound effects in the games industry.
In addition to the creation of its Volatile Games brand, dedicated to the publishing of mature videogames including forthcoming next-generation title, Possession, Blitz celebrated its 15th anniversary of game development earlier this year.
CEO and co-founder, Philip Oliver, commented: "We've weathered the storms of the past couple of years and are in a stronger position than ever before — with a broader portfolio of titles, excellent in house technology on both current and next generation consoles, an enthusiastic and talented workforce and an unwavering passion for games."
"Reaching 150 employees is indeed a milestone but we're still looking to grow considerably over the coming months."
Andrew Oliver, co founder of Blitz Games, added: "We're confident that we can continue to expand by employing only the best talent in the industry. With a wide range of titles across current and next-generation consoles in development we can offer great opportunities for ambitious and creative individuals."
