Santa Monica, CA - October 4, 2006 - Cinergi Interactive announced today that its ground breaking fantasy RTS game Armies of Exigo is now available for download at Direct2Drive ( http://www.direct2drive.com ), IGN Entertainment's premiere digital retail store. Developed by Black Hole Entertainment, a subsidiary of Cinergi Interactive, the title was picked up by the successful online digital retail store, operated by IGN Entertainment, a unit of Fox Interactive Media.
Armies of Exigo is a PC game taking strategy to new depths as elves, beasts, knights, and creatures of the darkness clash in an epic battle for survival. For the first time ever, players can wage wars on two fronts simultaneously - above and below the surface - because of a unique dual layered map system. Players can control massive armies engaging in an epic three-part single player campaign or go online for massive multiplayer skirmishes with up to 12 players. Additionally, game experience is boosted by the stunning 3D visuals that bring the characters and different environments to life in the world of Armies of Exigo.
"Since its first launch at the end of 2004 Armies of Exigo has attracted RTS enthusiasts who relish employing both Macro and Micro skills and who were looking for the best playing and looking RTS out there." said Alex Rabb, Executive Vice President of Cinergi Interactive. "When we wanted to broaden our reach by making Armies of Exigo downloadable, we immediately thought of Direct2Drive as a robust and easy-to-use system for delivering digital entertainment."
Direct2Drive builds on the successful operational infrastructure of FilePlanet, IGN Entertainment's download site and IGN's separate HitPoints program, which provides full digital game downloads as rewards to IGN and GameSpy subscribers.
"We're pleased to offer Cinergi Interactive a stable platform for the release of "Armies of Exigo," said Jamie Berger, VP and General Manager, Direct2Drive. "Direct2Drive offers millions of gamers an easy way to purchase and download great titles like this ground-breaking fantasy RTS."
