Bioware to release live-action Dragon Age TV show
The Guild's Felicia Day to write and star in fantasy miniseries
Bioware and EA are to promote upcoming game Dragon Age 2 with an online, live-action TV show.
Dragon Age: Redemption will star actor Felicia Day as Elven assassin Tallis. Day will also write the six-episode series, due for release online later this year.
Day, who is currently teasing a 'mystery project' for gamers on Twitter, seems as-yet unaware that USA Today has already revealed it.
She told the paper that she was working with Independence Day and Lost veterans on the show. " "They are going to take this a step above what we have seen on the Web before.
"Just being able to make a Web series that is tied with such a huge property ... really the premier role-playing game out there, this is a dream project come true."
Observed Bioware co-founder Dr Greg Zeschuk, "We are really, really excited to work with people like her who have a passion and appreciation for the content and a really good history of quality."
Day is already renowned in gaming circles for her self-penned web series The Guild, a comedy show about a group of MMO players.
Dragon Age II launches March 8.
