Bethesda's Todd Howard to receive Industry Legend Award at Gamelab
And GamesIndustry.biz has five free passes to give away for Spain's leading developer conference
Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard will receive the Industry Legend award at the Gamelab conference in Barcelona later this month.
Previous winners of the Industry Legend award include Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki, and Frontier Developments founder David Braben. The fact that Howard does not seem out of place in such esteemed company speaks to the quality of his achievements.
Howard has worked at Bethesda since 1994, and his track record for producing critical and commercial successes has few rivals - specifically games in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises. Howard will discuss these games and much more in an onstage interview with The Game Awards founder Geoff Keighley after the award presentation.
Gamelab will also give former Naughty Dog creative director Amy Hennig its Honor Award this year. Both awards will be presented at the conference in Barcelona, Spain at the end of this month.
There are also a number of new additions to Gamelab's already impressive speaker line-up: The Witness creator Jon Blow, The Behemoth co-founder John Baez, Hazelight Studios founder Josef Fares, EA Sports vice president Daryl Holt, Boss Studios founder Henrique Olifiers, and Magic Leap's Aleissia Laidacker will all give talks at the event.
