Best Buy to open 200 UK stores
Company's long term plans will see branches rolled-out across the country starting with five next year
Best Buy, the North American electronics retailer, is aiming to open 200 stores in the UK as part of its joint venture with Carphone Warehouse, according to the Financial Times.
Early last May, Best Buy acquired 50 per cent of The Carphone Warehouse's European and US Retail Interests for a Cash Consideration of GBP 1.1 billion (USD 2.1 billion). The deal was done to help further develop the Carphone Warehouse and introduce Best Buy to the European Market.
The company hopes to launch five stores next year and, depending on their success, continue its long-term roll-out of 200 stores.
