Berg Insight announces European acquisition
Telecom analyst firm gains dedicated location-based services division
Sweden-based wireless market analyst firm Berg Insight has announced the acquisition of mobile telecom analysts Locationbox, adding a dedicated location-based services and telematics division to its European operations.
In addition to providing additional resources for the management of its global customer base, Berg Insight's latest acquisition will provide the company with a new format of business information in the wireless sector. The company will launch its new dedicated vertical portal on location-based services and telematics (www.lbsinsight.com) at the beginning of 2006.
Tobias Ryberg, chairman of the board at Berg Insight commented: "We are delighted to welcome the Locationbox team to Berg Insight. We share the same enthusiasm and vision for the wireless industry, and will benefit from complementary skills and experiences.
"We see a strong growth in the demand for our reports and services and this is an important step for us on our way to be one of the leading global wireless analyst firms," he added.
Founded in 2001, Locationbox is an independent research company, providing comprehensive analysis and business information reports that focus on location-based services and associated technologies.
Berg Insight was founded in 2004 to provide concise, strategic insights into the pivotal developments within the telecommunication industry. Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, the firm has over 100 existing clients in more than 30 countries around the world.
The company recently announced a media partnership with Terrapin for the 2nd annual Nordic and Baltic telecoms executive conference, Telecoms World Scandinavia 2006. The event will focus on senior representatives from leading organisations sharing their insight and discussing what the future holds for the Nordic and Baltic telecoms market.
