StarCraft II to become first Blizzard title to adopt social network

Blizzard has announced that Battle.net, its online gaming service, is to integrate with social networking site Facebook.

Users will be able to merge friends lists and ease networking online, with StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty the first Blizzard title to adopt the service.

"We're pleased to be working with Facebook to integrate their platform with Battle.net to enhance the social-entertainment experience for our players," offered Paul Sams, chief operating officer of Blizzard.

"This new functionality will make it easier than ever to connect with friends on Battle.net and play StarCraft II and future Blizzard Entertainment games together."
