April 12, 2010 (Austin, TX) – Independent game developer Bandera Games proudly announces the beta launch of Battle Dex ( http://BattleDexGame.com), the free-to-play online strategy game with an arsenal of digital cards.
Battle Dex offers a strategy gaming experience like no other, blending the turn-based gameplay of strategy board games with the addictive thrill of collectible cards. Players can build custom decks to use against opponents in head-to-head or free-for-all matches, and compete in ranked tournaments for cash and prizes.
To kick off the beta launch, Bandera Games will hold a one-on-one tournament with a $500 first prize on Sunday, April 18. The tournament will be free to enter and open to all players. Six weeks of daily qualifier tournaments will also be scheduled during beta, culminating in two grand final tournaments with over $4,500 in cash and prizes awarded to the top players.

Getting started in Battle Dex is easy: simply download, create an account, and jump into the action. Level up by playing in ranked matches and tournaments, gaining experience points in battle, and earning awards for completed challenges. New users will automatically receive three free card packs upon sign-up, with more packs being awarded for competing in tournaments.
