Babaroga mobile studio opens London office

Spore Origins developer sees capital as "large and diverse business hub"

Babaroga, a development studio focused on the mobile market, has opened a new office in London.

"Babaroga decided to establish its second studio in London because we find that it enables us to easily reach the UK and European markets without a difficult language barrier," David Bachowski, VP of business development, told GamesIndustry.biz

"London is a very large and diverse business hub," he added. "People are always talking about how great Brighton is for games development, and while it certainly is a great development hub, I feel that London holds many more networking opportunities."

He also said that while space might be expensive in London, but the studios focus on mobile means a small studio space isn't an issue, and that its easier to attract the talent the company needs to keep producing games like Spore Origins, Zombies!!!, MMA by EA Sports and four launch titles for Windows Phone 7.

"The UK is home to a number of tremendously talented developers. We are looking for world class engineers and artists that can take their skills and apply them to bleeding edge mobile content. I feel that the the UK holds those world class developers."

Babaroga's head office is based in Chicago, and was founded in 2001.

"We hope that the government continues to improve its support for the gaming industry. There has never been a more exciting time for the industry as a whole, and we are honored to be a part of it on two continents."
