Avni Yerli joins GDC Europe board

Crytek co-founder to advise on content and speakers for this year's conference

Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli has joined the advisory board for this year's GDC Europe conference, which will be taking place just before gamescom in Cologne in August.

Yerli, who is the company's managing director, has overseen the growth of Crytek to over 470 staff members since it was formed in 1999, releasing Far Cry and Crysis along the way.

"I am flattered to have joined the GDC Europe advisory board and am looking forward to working with a talented group of advisors," said Yerli. "Together with their strong opinions and vision, I am confident that the advisory board can create a conference that will hit the industry's nerve."

And the VP of European business development for Think Services, Frank Sliwka, added: "It is great to welcome Avni onto the board of GDC Europe. He is definitely one of the leading personalities in the European games industry and I am sure that his knowledge can elevate the conference to a whole new level."

The conference will take place across August 17-19 at the Cologne Congress Center East in Germany.
