gamescom 2010 in Cologne, Germany, is widely regarded as the greatest fair of interactive games and entertainment. DotA gamers will doubtlessly find all they could wish for this year, as games publisher burda:ic presents Avalon Heroes on a silver platter in Hall 09.1 at Booth C055 – and anyone can get involved! None less than WeMADE FOX, SK Gaming and SK EMS will be on the scene from August 18 through August 22, 2010, and compete in unique show matches. But there is still more! Visitors to the fair will be given the chance to challenge the eSports pros and, for the first time ever, even the developers of Avalon Heroes in mini tournaments. Moreover, fans will also get to see NaDa, one of the world's top StarCraft gamers. Lavish on-stage presentations as well as autograph and photo sessions with the stars complete the experience.

The free-to-play title, a veritable DotA El Dorado, has even more to offer, as Avalon Heroes fighters get to let their imagination run wild in the brand new Hero Design Contest running through September 12, 2010. The goal is to draft the design of a totally new hero who will eventually make it into the game. The more detailed the concept, the higher the chances of winning. Moreover, Avalon Heroes will provide new contents as of August 18, 2010: two new quick-witted heroes named "Skatilo" and "Myoemchun" will add to the already diverse selection of heroes, while "The Forest of Turbulence" is an all-new battle mode map for players to experience. All the more reason to try out the competitive, DotA-inspired battle mode in Avalon Heroes.

For all those who cannot make it to the gamescom, the game will offer a small consolatory treat: from August 18 through September 1, so-called "letter boxes" will be dropped by defeated enemies in both battle and adventure modes. These boxes each contain a letter of the word "AVALON". Once a player has collected all of these letters, he or she can visit an NPC and trade it for a coupon, for which a surprise will be awarded after the fair.
