Autodesk at the Develop Conference
Autodesk Media and Entertainment will be sponsoring the Develop Conference & Expo on 24-26 July in Brighton. Autodesk will be showcasing the latest versions of the Autodesk 3D Animation Product Portfolio: Autodesk 3ds Max 9 and Autodesk Maya 8.5 3D modelling, animation and rendering software and Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 character animation software. Autodesk will be giving three presentations focussing on next generation games content and animation:
Tuesday 24 July
14.40 - Edu session: Next generation visual tools
Autodesk senior games industry manager, Michel Kripalani will be sharing his knowledge and showing students why the top games developers use Autodesk tools and how these will grow into more mature toolsets. Michel is a veteran of the games industry, having founded Presto Studios in 1991 which produced many successful games such as The Journeyman Project series, Myst 3: Exile, and Whacked! Michel joined Autodesk in 2004 to focus product development on the needs of game developers. He oversees Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya and Autodesk MotionBuilder from the perspective of a game developer, working closely with Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and middleware providers. He's currently focused on leading technical innovation for next generation gaming systems.

13.30 - Meeting the challenge of next generation content creation
Autodesk 3ds Max application specialist Jamie Gwilliam will illustrate the recent workflow enhancements that the 3ds Max 'productivity booster' brings. He will focus on a typical workflow and the challenges of next generation games content creation.

15.30 - Insight into Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder
Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder application specialist Nick Jovic will cover some of the powerful animation tools in Maya 8.5 including the new Maya nCloth feature and enhanced character animation tools. The presentation will also provide an insight into the powerful real-time workflow of MotionBuilder 7.5 including non linear character animation, real time device driven control and the Story Timeline Tool for pre visualisation.
