Atomic Planet Entertainment to develop Mega Man® Anniversary Collection for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Middlesbrough, 9 December 2004 - Atomic Planet Entertainment (APE) Limited, the North East's award-winning video games development studio, is developing another version of this year's smash hit Mega Man Anniversary Collection, this time for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection, published by U.S. giant Capcom® and developed by APE for PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Gamecube, released in June this year in North America and to date has sold more than half a million copies. The game continues to be a popular favourite and ride high in the charts. Based on this overwhelming success, Capcom announced that a version would be developed for the Xbox, with Atomic Planet the natural choice for the job

Mega Man Anniversary Collection marks the 15th anniversary of the popular Mega Man series, featuring an anthology of classic Mega Man games (Mega Man 1 through 8), plus Mega Man the Power Battle and Mega Man 2 the Power Fighters, and rare bonus material for the player to unlock.

APE's managing director Darren Falcus says "The Mega Man Anniversary Collection has been one of our biggest selling games to date, and is a very popular trip down memory lane for many fans." He adds "It seems a natural choice to bring the title to even more people by developing it for the Xbox, and further cements our important working relationship with Capcom."

Currently in production at Atomic Planet's Middlesbrough studio, Mega Man Anniversary Collection is scheduled for release in March 2005 - initially in North America.
