GDC Postmortem and Student Game Showcase

This month’s meeting will be held at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in the new building for the School of Film and Digital Media. Registration will begin at 6:00 pm. Right after registration there will be time for networking and snacks. Food and beverages will be provided. The meeting will begin with a tour of the innovative facility. Next on the agenda, student work will be displayed. This work earned them spot at the Game Developers Conference (GDC). SCAD members will then provide highlights from the GDC.

Arrive early to allow time for parking and for security. Please enter the parking deck by the building or find a spot on the street. Security is very tight in this building, so everyone is going to have to enter and either sign in or be escorted upstairs. Advise security that you are attending the GGDA event.

About SCAD

Savannah College of Art & Design offers a game design program considered to be one of the top in the U.S. which teaches both the artistic and technical skills needed for students to make both digital and non-digital games from concept to final product. Students are equipped with a full Motion Capture lab, green screen, and Cintiq tablets and learn industry programs such as Maya, Photoshop, Unreal Engine, ZBrush, 3dsMax, Illustrator, Premiere, AfterEffects, Flash, C++, and ActionScript from industry professionals with several years of experience.

GGDA offers monthly events as opportunities for individuals and groups at any stage or level of involvement with the game development industry to meet and discuss or debate ideas. Anyone who wishes to announce a project or needs an extra worker for their team is welcome to attend. Local companies and startup groups are welcome to show up and announce upcoming events such as product releases or hiring opportunities. Individuals within the industry should come to meet new talent, especially if you're looking to start a development project of your own soon.
