Rodriguez joined the company in 2000 as senior manager of financial reporting, and has since held roles such as director and vice president of accounting.
News of his appointment comes just weeks after Atari announced its latest financial results, revealing a drop in both sales and revenues.
Bruno Bonnell, who was previously CFO at Atari as well as chairman, director and CEO, left the company in April.
