SCi Entertainment has appointed Jurgen Goeldner as interim chief operating officer, just days after three of the publisher's senior management stepped down from their roles.

Goeldner has over 25 year's experience in the games industry, holding senior management positions at Funsoft and later THQ Germany.

"Jurgen has a wealth of experience which will be invaluable to SCi in undertaking our business review and managing our operations more effectively," commented Phil Rogers, CEO.

"I am delighted that he is joining us as our interim chief operating officer."

Goeldner was one of the co-founders of Germany's Rushware and Softgold, leading distributors and publishers in the region, before they were bought out by Funsoft in 1992.

The Funsoft Group had 18 companies and shareholdings, which included a 16 per cent stake in SCi Entertainment, before the German subsidaries were sold to THQ in 1998.

SCi is currently reviewing its financial and operational options after revealing it was no longer in acquisitoin talks, and as a result key product releases have been delayed until 2009.
