Namco to acquire complete D3P business
European and US branches, plus in-house studio Vicious Cycle, to be fully acquired by Japanese publisher
Namco Bandai plans to acquire 100 per cent of D3Publisher, including both its American and European arms, as well as the development studio Vicious Cycle.
Earlier today, Namco secured a 95 per cent stake in the company, in a deal estimated to be worth around GBP 9 million. The Ben 10 publisher has now revealed that Namco intends to purchase the entire company.
"Bandai Namco Games has announced plans to acquire 100 per cent of D3, and its subsidiaries D3Publisher of America and D3Publisher of Europe as well as D3PA's subsidiary development studio, Vicious Cycle," the company explained in a statement.
"D3Publisher operations will remain unchanged at this time," it added. "Development of our current and unannounced titles is ongoing and will move forward as planned.
"D3Publisher is thrilled to join forces with Bandai Namco Games to further strengthen their position in the US and European marketplaces and continue to make quality games that gamers will enjoy."
Last month, Namco began its acquisition of the company with a 70 per cent stake to bolster its portfolio.
Namco Bandai's stock is trading at JPY 956 (GBP 6.9), down 2.24 per cent from an opening of JPY 968 (GBP 7).
