Modern Warfare 2 holds UK top spot

As Pandemic's swansong The Saboteur just scrapes charts at 39

Activision and Infinity Ward's shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still the best-selling game in the UK, despite a drop in sales of seven per cent from last week.

EA's FIFA 10 has surged past Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed II to take the number two position, as all three titles battle it out for the coveted Christmas number one spot.

However, EA's new IP The Saboteur – the last title from Pandemic before the publisher closed the studio down – is the only new entry this week, barely scraping the top 40 at number 39.

In the top ten, other games enjoying a pre-xmas sales boost include Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games (up 28%), Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues (up 74%), Forza Motorsport 2 (up 27%).
