Microsoft to release stand alone 250GB HDD for Xbox 360

April 16 release in UK, priced at £79.99

Microsoft is to offer a stand alone 250GB hard-drive for the Xbox 360 on April 16 in the UK.

The hardware comes with a transfer cable for users to move data from one hard-drive to another, and will be priced at £79.99. US consumers can buy the HDD for $129.99.

The larger hard-drive was first introduced as part of Xbox 360 hardware bundles along with specific games, and Microsoft had initially said it would not sell units separately.
