EA unveils new Simpsons game
Electronic Arts is working on a new Simpsons title that will parody games such as EverQuest, Grand Theft Auto and Medal of Honor.

Described as an "action comedy", the game will feature 16 levels and a a storyline penned by the TV show's writers. It's due out on PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS this autumn.
The game is being developed by EA's Redwood Shores studios and will be designed to appeal to fans of the long-running series, of which 400 episodes have now been produced. For example, each of the 16 levels are being designed as episodes of the show and will feature unique storylines and title animations.
Each level will see players controlling a pair of Simpsons family members, allowing for co-operative. Whether taking on the role of Homer, Marge, Bart or Lisa players will be able to employ special powers - with Bart transforming into Bartman and Homer into Homerball.
The game will feature many other characters from the show who will be voiced by members of the TV show cast. It will allow players to explore Springfield and "vast worlds beyond", battling in comic recreations of familiar game settings.
"Our goal in developing The Simpsons Game is to create the most original game ever, which is a lofty goal and only possible given the close collaboration with The Simpsons' creative team," said Scot Amos, executive producer.
"We're also especially proud of the game's warm visual feel, which captures - for the first time ever in a game - the look of the TV show. As Comic Book Guy says, 'Best. Simpsons Game. Ever!'"
