The hammer is set to fall for the final time on the remainder of assets and IP from bankrupt software publisher Acclaim, with a "bulk buy" auction set to take place this May.
According to a report on US website Gamasutra, the auction is being set up by David R. Maltz and Company, and will take place on the afternoon of May 11th at the office of the auctioneer in Plainview, New York.
The Acclaim name has already been secured by former Activision exec, Howard Marks, who has brought the brand back into the games industry with the establishment of Acclaim Games at the start of the year.
The newly revitalised publisher will operate an entirely different business model, focusing on free-to-play MMO titles, and has recently signed a long-term agreement with in-game advertising firm Massive Inc.
In terms of what's left to sell, the official auction site lists 150 titles, including various iterations of the early WWF wrestling games, several Worms titles, three Extreme G future racing games and several later games which never received a release, such as Kung Faux and, ironically, The Last Job.
Previous auctions have resulted in the sale of some of Acclaim's more high profile IP, such as Interview with a Made Man and The Red Star, but there's still a good few titles on the list that could feasibly garner consumer support.
