Rogue Company is now free-to-play

Team-based shooter is Hi-Rez Studios most successful launch ever, after attracting 2m players to its closed beta

First Watch Games' Rogue Company is now free-to-play across all platforms, following a successful period as a premium title in early access.

The team shooter, which is published by Hi-Rez Studios, has only been available by purchasing a premium "founder's pack" on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or the Epic Games Store -- which granted access to the closed beta.

From today, the game will be free-to-play across all platforms and territories, with full cross-play and cross-save support.

Rogue Company has attracted more than two million players since the early access version was made available in July. According to Hi-Rez Studios, it is the "most successful game launch" in the history of the company.

"From July's early access launch we've gathered a huge community," saird executive producer Chris Larson. "Their invaluable feedback has ensured the game keeps getting better and better."

First Watch Games was formed by a core team of Hi-Rez veterans, along with talent from Blizzard, Daybreak, Electronic Arts, and Vicarious Visions.
