Switch version of Fox N Forests outsells PlayStation 4 by 4:1
Director Rupert Ochsner: "[The] Switch is our best platform to date"
Fox n Forests, the side-scrolling 16bit action adventure from Bonus Level Entertainment, has performed four times better on Switch than the PlayStation 4.
Speaking with Destructoid, game director and studio co-founder Rupert Ochsner said the "Switch is our best platform to date", with a sales ratio of 3:1 compared to PC, and 4:1 against the PS4; Ochsner added that he was unable to confirm Xbox One numbers currently.
The game released in May this year to a mixed critical reception that doesn't appear to have been enough to dampen a solid commercial performance.
With the Switch, Nintendo has begun opening its platform up to indie developers in a way not previously seen with the Wii or WiiU and, according to Ochsner, it's no more difficult to develop for than other consoles.
"Unity was our engine of choice, which made developing Fox n Forests for multiple platforms a relatively comfortable task," he said. "All platforms were more or less similar in terms of challenges and workload."
