gPotato Europe and the comics publisher Foolstrip launch the « Art & Video Games » contest to promote artistic creation related to video games

If the status of video games as an Art is still subject to debates, it is a fact that gaming communities host a lot of artists. In order to allow these artists to reveal their potential, gPotato Europe partners with the comics publisher Foolstrip and launches the “Art and Video Games” contest !

Open to all French speaking participants above 18 years old, the “Art & Video Games” contest aims to support artistic creation related to video game by offering the winners of the contest a one year contract as freelance illustrators for Gala Networks Europe. The theme of this first contest is double: Flyff and Rappelz, the two free online games published by gPotato Europe.

From the 21rst of April to the 31rst of May, the participants will be able to send their production. A jury, formed by members of the gPotato Europe team, members of the Foolstrip publishing team, as well as artistic teams and developers from Aeonsoft and NFlavor Corp. will determinate the winners. The names of the happy winners will be announced on June the 16th 2008.

« As a video games publisher, gPotato Europe wants to support the artistic scene in Europe » declared Ken Hur, COO of Gala Networks Europe. « By this contest, we aim to help the unknown talents of the French speaking gaming community to reach the visibility and success they deserve. »
