Apple hires Casamassina as editorial manager

Long-time IGN editor joins company as taste-maker for games

Apple has hired long-time IGN editor Matt Casamassina as global editorial games manager for the App Store.

The veteran editor had been with IGN for over 13 years and was known for his support of Nintendo formats, but will know become a take-maker for software on Apple products.

"Beginning early May, I will join Apple as global editorial games manager, App Store," wrote Casamassina on his blog. “In a nutshell, I will be leading the charge for games on the App Store, so whether you browse through iTunes, iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, the games content you see will be hand-picked and organised by me and my team."

The App Store groups best-selling free and paid-for apps, and also What's Hot, New and Genius for Apps categories to highlight software for the Apple devices.
