Animal Magic as Konami introduces GoPets
Create and develop unique pets and interact with other players in Konami's GoPets for Nintendo DS
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced a new title for Nintendo DS entitled GoPets, offering a unique animal community using the handheld's wireless connectivity.
Due for release in Autumn, GoPets brings together a community of virtual pet owners within which players can create, raise and train a virtual dog or cat and watch as their pet develops its own personality, appearance, traits and hobbies. Players can also take the pet online through Nintendo's Wi-Fi service to make friends with other pet owners around the world.
The touch-screen capabilities of the Nintendo DS make pet creation and taking care of them fun, intuitive and can be altered to the player's preference. Players are also able to interact with friends through text chat and GoPets' icon-based 'IKU' language - even if they don't speak the same language as those they are communicating with.
GoPets invites players to join an online social network composed of real people and their virtual pets. Users can join in the fun as they create custom pets and follow their unique 3D companion as it travels virtually around the world to visit owners of other pets and likeminded GoPets fans who share similar interests.
GoPets offers a variety of unique elements to bring variety and fun to its online universe. The Nintendo DS game features one-of-a-kind pets that can only be created within the game's island environment, expanded offline play featuring island residents, and enhanced mini-games are also included. Similarly, the game's online mode has a travel journal to keep track of all the friends that your pet has met.
GoPets will be released for Nintendo DS in Autumn, 2007. For more information, please contact Steve Merrett at Voltage PR on 020 7903 5122 or email steve@voltagepr.com.
