ANACONDA unveils first Gray Matter screenshots

Hamburg/Germany: June 06, 2007 - Today, Hamburg-based publisher ANACONDA unveils the very first screenshots taken from the new Jane Jensen adventure game Gray Matter.

These pictures show some first impressions of the Dread Hill House, a gorgeous old English estate house, where the story of the game starts to develop.

You can see Samantha "Sam" Everett, one of the game's main characters. She's investigating the rooms of the Dread Hill Houses. In the lab down in the basement she learns more about the work of Dr. David Styles, the manor's owner and Sam's employer-to-be.

Up on the Dread Hill House tower, Sam finds some more indices, helping her on her researches during the game. Out of curiosity, Sam doesn't even stop investigating when she reaches Styles' private bathroom. However, the player can marvel at some graphic details - such as the double reflections on the shower cabin and the mirror - here.

The exterior view of the old mansion shows some dark bad weather atmosphere.

Jane Jensen is back: Gray Matter is the first adventure game by renowned author Jane Jensen since the release of Gabriel Knight 3. The story mixes eerie goings-on with supernatural events in best Jensen-style. Neurobiologist Dr. David Styles is one of the game's central characters: Since losing his wife in a horrible accident several years ago, he has become a recluse, seldom leaving Dread Hill House, his English country estate.

When student and part-time street performer Samantha Everett shows up at his doorstep, she unexpectedly becomes his assistant. Hailing from America, she has been travelling through most of Europe the last couple years. Her first task: Finding six test subjects at Oxford University for one of Styles' experiments.

The experiment starts off innocently enough, but then inexplicable incidents start mounting. And Styles is visited by his dear departed wife. Now it's up to Sam to solve the mysteries of Dread Hill House.

In Gray Matter, players control both Dr. David Styles as well as Samantha Everett in their bid to uncover the secrets and find out the truth. Gray Matter tackles questions concerning the nature of reality and the power of the human mind in constructing the world we take for granted.

ANACONDA will publish Gray Matter worldwide, starting in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the 1st quarter of 2008.
