American Greetings Interactive appoints new CTO

Cingular veteran to head up product development and technology expansion

AG Interactive, the new media subsidiary of American Greetings has announced the appointment of former Cingular/AT&T Wireless executive Rajiv Jain to the position of CTO.

Jain will be responsible for overseeing technology operations across all businesses, expanding the technological infrastructure and endeavouring to expand the company's global product development.

Josef Mandelbaum, president and CEO of AG Interactive stated: "The strong technical and management expertise that Rajiv Jain brings to our team will help us explore new growth opportunities and enhance our work creating the industry's most advanced self and social expression products."

Formerly employed as general manager of the Cingular/AT&T Wireless business to business e-commerce unit, Jain has been credited as being instrumental in establishing the company as a sales and customer service leader in just two years. Prior to this role, he held the position of vice president of core products for Portal Software, and has also established a major partnership with Nokia and Sun Microsystems during his time with IBM. The new CTO also brings a wealth of experience from his position as director of IBM's Java Technology Centre. Jain currently holds 10 patents registered in his name.

AGI creates and licenses a vast library of products for personal and social expression, reaching customers through 25 global carriers in addition to a number of websites including defjammobile.com, univisionmovil.com, MIDIringtones, Kiwee, Blue Mountain, and American Greetings. The company attracts more than 30 million unique visitors per month, has over two million paying subscribers and partnerships with AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!

American Greetings is home to the world's third largest creative and editorial studio, where strong brand products including Strawberry Shortcake, the Care Bears and Twisted Whiskers were created. Products are created in 26 languages and reach more than 80 countries worldwide. The company's immense product portfolio generates almost USD 2 billion in net sales per year.
