America's Army 3

Soldier sim gets own YouTube channel.

Silver Spring, MD, December 2, 2009 -- The America's Army team today announced that it has launched the Official America's Army channel on YouTubeTM, the world's most popular online video community allowing millions of people to discover, watch and share original videos.

The America's Army channel, located at www.youtube.com/americasarmy, provides America's Army (AA) fans with a central location to easily view game footage, trailers, and developer diaries; share user generated content; access and participate in unique Mission Challenges; and learn more about the America's Army games.

The channel launched with several videos including game trailers, behind the scenes videos, and unique content created by America's Army players. In addition community members in the America's Army Mentor Program (AAMP) created and posted several videos, one of which focuses on AA3 medic training and how players can use the skills they learn to render aid to their teammates while playing AA3. AAMP personnel also created a tutorial demonstrating how to set up a server and a video on breaching, clearing and securing areas in the game.

The America's Army YouTube channel will feature unique America's Army Mission Challenges where the AA team will ask fans to create their own videos within the given mission's parameters. In other missions, the AA team will supply fans with game assets and issue creative challenges to supply sound effects, music, and more. Players create videos for the Mission Challenges and then post and tag their submission. Just like in the AA3 game, Every Detail Counts!™ Winners will have their videos featured on the Official America's Army YouTube channel and Facebook page and may win exclusive AA prizes.

In the first Mission Challenge, players navigate through an exciting route on the AA3 Pipeline map. They must negotiate the path and all the obstacles in their way without deviating from the route. The fastest player wins! More information about the America's Army Mission Challenges and the AA YouTube site can be found at www.AmericasArmy.com/YouTube.

The America's Army team will constantly update the site to include more never-released game play; footage of fans playing the game; mission walkthroughs, teamwork and training tutorials; and user-created videos. In addition, the team will issue new and creative Mission Challenges to let fans demonstrate their AA expertise as never before.

About America's Army

The Army creates and distributes America's Army so that young Americans can virtually explore Soldiering in the U.S. Army like Soldiers experience it - as individuals and as members of teams. Through the Game's virtual experiences, young Americans can explore the Army from basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and medic training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to operations in defense of freedom. Along the way, they can join elite Army units and experience the strength of Army teamwork, values, and technology within an engaging environment. The game has become an online phenomenon, consistently ranking among the most popular PC action games played online. The games are rated T for Teen and can be downloaded free from Steam ( www.americasarmy.com/steam) and from various partners listed on the www.americasarmy.com website. They are also distributed at local Army Recruiting sta tions, ROTC Detachments, and Army events.

In the America's Army game, players are bound by Rules of Engagement (ROE) and grow in experience as they navigate challenges in team-based, multiplayer, force-on-force operations. In the game, as in the Army, accomplishing missions requires teamwork and adherence to the Army's core Values. Through its emphasis on team play, the game demonstrates these Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage and makes them integral to success in America's Army.

The Army launched America's Army in July of 2002, and has released major updates to the game every few months. These releases feature new technologies, missions, Army units, and occupations. In keeping with the dynamic nature of Soldiering, the America's Army game will continue to expand and allow players to explore the Army of today, tomorrow and the future. The most recent version of the game, America's Army 3, launched in June 2009.
