amBX Creator
Free software allows PC users to create their own lighting, wind and rumble effects.
amBX today announced the launch of amBX Creator, a free software update that empowers and encourages PC users to create their very own amBX effects - including coloured lighting, air movement, sound and rumble - linked to Windows events, to revolutionise and customise every aspect of their PC experience.
Shorthand for ‘ambient experiences’, amBX reinvents the PC entertainment experience by taking it out of the screen and into the real world. Whether a PC game, media player or application, movie DVD or even music CD, amBX delivers full ‘sensory surround”, which can currently be experienced by consumers who buy the Philips amBX PC Gaming Peripherals.
With the launch of amBX Creator, users can now create their own personalised ambient experiences, such as multi-coloured lighting sequences when a buddy logs onto Windows Live Messenger or breezing fans whenever windows are dragged and dropped on-screen, or even a rumble triggered whenever an event warning appears. The creative possibilities really are only limited by the imagination of the user.
“Our users have been asking to take control of their own custom effects, so we decided to empower them with that ability," commented Jo Cooke, Chief Marketing Officer, amBX. "We’re really excited at the prospect of seeing the kinds of lighting, wind and rumble effects they create, given the free reign that amBX Creator provides.”
The amBX Creator features an easily navigable interface, allowing the easy creation of amBX effects assigned to program events as and when they occur, including office notifications, saving, opening and closing windows and much more. Instead of the PC notifying users with a simple bell, they will experience a whole show incorporating lights, wind and rumble, that is entirely customised to their specific preferences.
The amBX Creator will automatically update through www.ambx.com, as well as being included in all new amBX peripherals sold through retail.
