Alten8 launches new mobile RPG
Opal's Quest available for Java handsets
Extending the company's growth through the securing of worldwide publishing rights for innovative mobile games, Alten8 has announced the launch of Opal's Quest, a new mobile RPG from French developer Corelane.
A medieval fantasy RPG designed specifically for the mobile platform, players assume the role of Opal as they embark on an epic quest, travelling through towns and villages, scouring dense forests and braving ancient ruins and hidden dungeons in an effort to trace and kill the evil troll Mephisto.
Featuring hours of adventure with a host of friendly and not so friendly inhabitants, players must solve riddles, disable traps and use environmental mechanisms to reach new areas. Fighting fearsome monsters with upgradeable swords and weaponry, Opal's Quest also includes a range of armour, specialist weapons and magic scrolls and potions, offering mobile gamers a true taste of RPG gaming normally restricted to PC and console titles.
"This is a prime example of how we are working to bring to market quickly and efficiently all new great quality games from small development teams, and Opal's Quest is just one of several high quality games to be announced over the coming weeks," commented Paul Andrews of Alten8.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with Corelane with regards to Opals Quest and we are looking forward to working with them on future projects," he added.
Established in 2005, Alten8 is striving to establish itself as the publisher of choice for both new and established mobile game developers. The company is rapidly growing its worldwide publishing network, and is actively seeking contact from interested mobile content aggregators, carriers and portal operators.
Opal's Quest will initially be available on a range of more than 100 Java enabled handsets, and has been pre-ordered by over 25 carriers and portals to date.
