Aliens Vs Predator becomes fast-selling game of 2010
Rebellion title sees major success on Xbox 360 platform, according to Chart-Track
Sega and Rebellion's Aliens Vs Predator has taken the number one spot in the UK, knocking BioShock 2 off the top after only one week.
According to data from GfK Chart-Track the multiformat game has become the fastest-selling title of the year, with 58 per cent of sales on the Xbox 360, 32 per cent on the PlayStation 3 and nine per cent on PC. Chart-Track does not include digitally distributed games in its data.
Sales of BioShock 2 fell 71 per cent compared to last week as it dropped to number three, while Ubisoft's Just Dance remained at number two with sales up 55 per cent on last week.
Super Mario Bros. Wii also enjoyed a sales boost of 59 per cent, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games a 76 per climb in sales, Wii Sport Resort was up 35 per cent and Wii Fit Plus 11 per cent. Official Olympics game Vancouver 2010 benefited from the event itself, with sales up 274 per cent.
