AIAS announces mobile award nominees

Gameloft has two titles in the running for Game of the Year

America's Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for its 2006 awards, with id Software and Gameloft in the running for Mobile Game of the Year.

The 10th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards take place in Las Vegas next month as part of the D.I.C.E. Summit, and awards games for achievements in animation, art direction, sound design and story and character development, amongst others.

id's Orcs and Elves, Hands-On Mobile's Duckshot and Gameloft's Brothers in Arms 3D and Tropical Madness are all nominated, with only one able to take away the coveted Mobile Game of the Year gong.

The awards ceremony is due to take place on February 8 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Nevada.
