Adrenalin Misfits

New Kinect game announced Xbox 360.

El Segundo, Calif. – June 15, 2010 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Adrenalin Misfits for the Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The original IP is one of the first Konami titles to utilize Microsoft’s Kinect TM for Xbox 360 ® which brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways, no controller required, getting players one-step closer to the realism and excitement of real world crossboarding.

“Konami is always at the forefront of the ever-evolving gaming industry, and with one of our debut Kinect for Xbox 360 title we are combining an original action game with an all-new way to play,” said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “With Adrenalin Misfits, we wanted to use Kinect for Xbox 360 technology to provide consumers with a fun and interactive experience that is unparalleled in the industry. Now it’s easier than ever for anyone and everyone to master crossboard riding.”

In Adrenalin Misfits, gamers become crossboard-riding monsters that compete with enemy monsters in seven different lands from all around the world including snowy mountains, triple cascades, stormy deserts, limestone caves, glacier lands, hollow caves and volcanoes. With the motion capture technology of Kinect for Xbox 360, players will feel like they are actually riding a crossboard. Players will perfect their own unique boarding technique as they use only their body to produce real tricks, sliding and gliding in the air and on land just like the pros. With no controllers required, crossboarders can play as in-game monsters, original Avatars or their favorite Xbox 360 Avatar.

Adrenalin Misfits features a number of contests that can be either one-person challenges or two-person multiplayer competitions, pitting gamers against their family and friends to see who has the best virtual crossboarding skills. Free Mode enables gamers to race through the course to defeat an opponent or solo to beat their personal best time, while Downhill Slalom tests player’s agility as they pass through several gates on the course to beat their opponent or get the fastest time. Players will also earn a Trick Score as they execute jumps, and rails tricks throughout each race. Other contests include Fly Distance, Balloon Buster, Stadium mini-games, Big Air, Terrain Park, Half Pipe and more. Collect and win more than 60 crossboards each with their own special abilities to up the ante. Battling friends and family has never been more fun or interactive.
