Activision ending Guitar Hero TV in December
iOS version already removed from the App Store
Guitar Hero TV, the free online gamemode for 2015's Guitar Hero Live, will cease to be from December 1 this year, publisher Activision has confirmed.
Activision has already ended sales of virtual currency, and removed the iOS version of the game from the App Store.
Players will still be able to access the mobile version of the game until November 30, providing they do not update their iOS software.
Guitar Hero TV attempted to harken back to the days of MTV by offering a rolling setlist that players could dip into and play whatever was on at the time, or spend virtual currency to play a song outside of the rotation
Taking the place of traditional DLC songs offered in previous iterations of the series, Guitar Hero TV was met with a mixed response with critics applauding the idea, but lamenting the lack of flexibility it offered to players.
"We want to thank you for being valued fans and let you know that as of December 1, 2018, the GHTV mode within Guitar Hero Live will no longer be available to play," said Activision in a rather unceremonious blog post.
