Action-Arena takes shape
Big picture set for Speedball 2
Berlin, 2007-10-11: Developer Kylotonn has just finished a preview version of Speedball 2, which features a new gigantic arena for the tough future sports matches. This second stadium is now fully playable along with the arena shown at the Games Convention. Since Kylotonn has animated the audience in this version, cheering fans create a vital backdrop for the dynamic sport battles of Speedball 2. In the final release version players will be able to choose from four impressive arenas - each with unique appearance and atmosphere.
The current version already contains a new special move called "dragon punch". This mighty defense tackling is available in the Advanced Mode. Players are now able to hit their opponents with the powerful "dragon punch", when these try to jump over their attack. The visual impression of fast dodging manoeuvres has now been intensified by a motion blur effect. The version now shows collected power-ups as clear symbols in the HUD. Power-ups like "freeze opponent's team" or "reverse control of adversary" immediately recreate the fun factor of the legendary computergames classic.
Images of the new arena, screenshots of the new features and a sketch of the cute robot nurse that transports injured players off the field are now available in a big picture set on www.speedball2.com. In addition to that, true fans can download a cool cell phone theme for popular models of Sony Ericsson including icecream ringtones, the game trailer in mobile format and a speedball design on the games portal.
Upon request all editors can get access to the preview version from us.
Speedball 2 returns
In 2326, rival gangs form an ultra-violent streetsports league to settle their deadly disputes called Speedball 2. Two teams face each other in bloody battles for a steel ball. Nine on nine - in an all-out rush on the opponents' goal. Almost any malicious move is permitted. The winner of the matches secures supremacy over the city. In the third quarter of 2007, Frogster Interactive is set to publish Speedball 2 as the highly anticipated sequel to the Amiga classic. The new release for the PC platform transforms the futuristic game setting with state-of-the-art technology into a high-speed online sports spectacle. Offering international leagues, a worldwide ranking system and a virtual marketplace, Speedball 2 pulls all registers of modern multiplayer gaming action. A wide range of fully customisable male, female and cyborg characters, dynamic sports battles, and continuous community support will convince sports simulation enthusiasts, action fans, and e-sports experts likewise. For the production of Speedball 2, developer Kylotonn has assembled a fresh team of experienced game designers and programmers. With photo-realistic 3D models, breathtaking animations and futuristic arenas for Speedball 2, the French developer team, already renowned for the "Bet on Soldier" trilogy, heads for a stunning comeback. As eminent advisor and lead producer, Mike Montgomery will supervise all steps in the development of Speedball 2. Since 1987, when he founded The Bitmap Brothers, he has been behind the legendary original as well as classics like Xenon Megablast, The Chaos
Engine, Gods, Cadaver, Magic Pockets and Z.
