AAA games dominate AIAS nominations

Assassin's Creed IV, BioShock Infinite, Grand Theft Auto V, Last of Us, and Zelda: Link Between Worlds up for Game of the Year

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences today announced its nominees for the 17th annual D.I.C.E. Awards, and the field of candidates suggests 2013 was a very strong year for the AAA industry.

Sony's The Last of Us led all titles with 13 nominations in the 24 categories, including Game of the Year. The rest of the Game of the Year field consists of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (five nominations overall), BioShock Infinite (six nominations), Grand Theft Auto V (seven nominations), and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (three nominations).

The awards are voted on by the AIAS' membership of more than 22,000, with International Game Developers Association members allowed to vote in the relevant craft categories. The awards will be given out February 6 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, as the culmination of this year's D.I.C.E. Summit. The full list of categories and nominees follows below.
