80’s REVIVAL – PART TWO!
Nintendo launches four more NES Classics games for Game Boy Advance
25 November 2004 - Four additional games are to be added to the popular NES Classics range of games for the Game Boy Advance. Launching in the UK on 7 January 2005, the new games are Metroid, Dr. Mario, Castlevania and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and they join an existing eight games already in the range.
The new games to be added to the NES Classics range are all-time favourites, remade especially for the Game Boy Advance. Metroid is the original game launched for the NES, when gamers were first introduced to the legendary bounty hunter, Samus Aran. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is a side-scrolling adventure and the sequel to the original The Legend of Zelda. Players will see Link embark on a quest to find the Triforce of Courage and save Hyrule from ruin. Castlevania is the first ever in the popular series, where players are pitted against the evil Count and his hordes of undead minions for the first time. Dr. Mario is an addictive puzzle game, which can also be played by two players using the Wireless Adaptor or the Game Boy Advance Link Cable.
The original eight NES Classic games launched with the limited edition Game Boy Advance SP 'Classic NES Edition' back in July 2004. The unique console and range of incredibly popular games paid homage to the birth of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, which launched nearly 20 years ago in Japan. The NES console brought quality arcade games to homes all over the world and is considered to be one of the most influential video gaming products ever made.
The new games join the following eight titles already available:
1. Super Mario Bros. Publisher: Nintendo
2. Donkey Kong Publisher: Nintendo
3. Ice Climber Publisher: Nintendo
4. Excitebike Publisher: Nintendo
5. The Legend of Zelda Publisher: Nintendo
6. Pac Man Publisher: Namco
7. Xevious Publisher: Namco
8. Bomberman Publisher: Hudson
The four new NES Classics games launch across Europe on 7th January 2005 at the estimated retail price of around £15 pounds each.
