2K Sports Taps Dan The Automator For Second Leg of 2nd Annual 2K Sports Bounce Tour

Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Casual (Hieroglyphics) and A.G. (D.I.T.C.) Tour and Perform With Dan The Automator in Support of NBA 2K7 for the PLAYSTATION®3 system

2K Sports, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., announced today that Dan The Automator will headline the second leg of the 2nd Annual 2K Sports Bounce Tour. This event will feature Dan The Automator touring for the first time ever with a live backing band and guest vocalists' Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, Casual of Hieroglyphics and A.G. of D.I.T.C. The tour is in support of NBA 2K7 for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and has 13 confirmed West Coast dates spanning the holiday season with additional shows pending.

After reuniting A Tribe Called Quest for the first part of the 2nd Annual 2K Sports Bounce Tour, 2K Sports enlisted Dan The Automator to helm the second leg of the tour inspired by the Decon Records-released soundtrack, entitled Dan The Automator Presents 2K7. The soundtrack features Chali 2na, Casual and A.G., who are performing with him on the tour. Beyond the music connection, Dan The Automator appears in NBA 2K7 as a playable character.

Producer Dan The Automator is known internationally as one of the most groundbreaking and inventive creators of hip-hop music. He first achieved critical and commercial success in 1996 with the esoteric Dr. Octagon album, and followed suit with a slew of landmark recordings and remixes that established him as not only a producer to be reckoned with, but as a remixer and songwriter as well. His collaborations with hip-hop legends Prince Paul (Handsome Boy Modeling School) and Del tha Funkee Homosapien (Deltron 3030) resulted in success on a larger scale, and he went platinum as the producer of the debut Gorillaz album in 2001. His most recent endeavor was producing the soundtrack to NBA 2K7, which involved sculpting the beats to mirror the tempo of a basketball game and enlisting rappers from across the nation for a diverse sound.

The 2nd Annual 2K Bounce Tour is the latest tour from the 2K Sports series of annual live events that bridge hip-hop, sports and video game culture by featuring renowned music artists, sports gaming kiosks, and projection vignettes. The tour will take place in more than a dozen top markets from the end of November throughout the month of December.
