Uncharted 2 becomes bookies' favourite for BAFTA award

Naughty Dog title beating MW2 as odds-on favourite for game of the year

Uncharted 2 has become the favourite to win the GAME award at this year's British Academy Game Awards.

According to bookmaker Victor Chandler, the Sony title is currently favourite for the award - which is the only one voted for by members of the public - with odds of 6/4.

Behind it with odds of 9/4 is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

"Uncharted 2 is a very strong favourite at 6/4 and we've already taken numerous four figure bets on it. For those looking for an outside bet we have seen support for FIFA 10 at 33/1. It's always tricky offering odds on a public vote so we'll be keeping a close eye on the money rolling in," said Victor Chandler MD Peter Laverick.

“We’ve already seen huge interest from all over the world in this year’s award with people campaigning online for their favourite title," added Neil Ashurst of GAME.

"As the deadline looms closer, I would urge all gamers to cast their vote at baftagameaward.com and make sure their voice is heard."

Uncharted 2 was handed ten awards, including game of the year, last month at the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) awards.

The BAFTA game awards will take place on March 19 at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

The current odds are as follows:

  • Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves - 6/4
  • Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 9/4
  • Batman Arkham Asylum - 6/1
  • Assassins Creed 2 - 4/1
  • Legend Of Zelda Spirit Tracks - 11/1
  • Wii Sports Resort - 16/1
  • GTA Chinatown Wars - 20/1
  • The Beatles: Rock Band - 25/1
  • FIFA 10 - 33/1
  • Street Fighter IV - 33/1
