Rockstar co-founders form 4mm Games

Recruits Def Jam Enterprises exec and is working on two online titles

Rockstar co-founders Gary Foreman and Jamie King have formed a new independent studio, 4mm Games.

The company plans to focus on digital titles for the iPhone and other online markets, before introducing successful properties to home consoles, according to a report by Variety.

"It is an utterly unprecedented time in the history of videogames, as the Web and new business models disrupt the existing value chain," offered Nicholas Perrett, CEO of 4mm Games.

Also joining the company is Paul Coyne, who was recently senior adviser for Def Jam Enterprises and senior VP for Warner Music. The company has raised capital from CEA Autumn Games for multiple titles.

4mm is currently working on two titles, according to the report, and considering distributing titles itself rather than through a traditional publisher relationship.
