Miller relaunches Apogee Software
Company plans to revive classic brands with Duke Nukem leading the charge
Co-founder of Apogee Software, Scott Miller, is relaunching the company with plans to revive some of its 30-plus properties.
One of the first titles from the reinvigorated company will be Duke Nukem Trilogy, under licence from 3D Realms and due on handheld consoles.
"This marks a new beginning for a famous publisher with a history of market-making innovation," said Terry Nagy, COO of Apogee.
"I can't think of a better character than Duke or a better franchise than the Trilogy to usher in a new era for Apogee."
Apogee was the producer behind early 90s hits such as the original Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D and Raptor. Miller is also involved with the Radar Group, currently working on a sequel to Prey, and two other titles.
"It's funny how what's old is new again in this industry," added Miller.
"Many of the things Apogee pioneered are back in style, so it only makes sense to bring back Apogee and its properties with a visionary team that will once again create innovation for gamers around the world."
