Inafune cancels Nordic appearance over swine flu restrictions

Capcom implements embargoes for execs travelling overseas on pandemic fears

Capcom is restricting foreign travel of its employees due to the current swine flu epidemic.

Keiji Inafune, producer for Capcom on the Onimusha and Dead Rising games, has cancelled his session at this week's Nordic Game at the last minute, with questions now arising over Capcom's attendance at E3 next month.

"I'm sorry to announce that Keiji Inafune has cancelled his appearance at Nordic Game 2009, due to corporate policy restricting foreign travel during the current influenza outbreak," said a spokesperson for Nordic Game.

GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Capcom for clarification of the policy, and how it will affect the company's plans for E3 in Los Angeles.

Taking Inafune's place at Nordic Game will be Team 17's Martyn Brown, delivering a session entitled 'Digital Publishing for Independent Studios: Myth or Reality?'
