Gears of War 2 hits 2 million sales
Microsoft reveals that Epic's new title has been played by than 1.5 million Xbox Live account holders for over 15 million gameplay hours
Microsoft has announced that Gears of War 2 has sold over 2 million units worldwide over its launch weekend.
In addition to this, Xbox Live's Major Nelson revealed on his blog that more than 1.5 million Xbox Live account holders played the game, playing a record 15 million gameplay hours between them all and unlocking over 19 million achievements.
"We were so excited to launch Gears of War 2 on the same day all around the world, something virtually unheard of in the games business," said Cliff Bleszinski, design director at Epic Games.
"We wanted our fans, no matter where they live, to have a shared experience on day one, and that’s exactly what’s happened."
