DSi trade price drops in UK
Nintendo confirms new price for handheld from June 18
Nintendo is to drop the trade price of the DSi handheld in the UK, leaving retailers to adjust the price to consumers as they see fit.
Last year saw the company up the price of the Wii home console, blaming the weak pound, before dropping it some months later. Ultimately the price to the consumer remained the same.
"In the UK Nintendo will be reducing the trade price of Nintendo DSi to retailers from June 18, 2010. The ultimate price to consumers is, of course, determined by the retailers," said Nintendo.
Prices for all DS models in Japan dropped this morning, as the company introduced three new colour DSi XL models to market.
At E3 later this month Nintendo will show off its latest handheld, the 3DS, which boasts a 3D screen and other new features.
The DSi has a RRP of £149.99 in the UK, with online retailers currently selling the hardware for around £120.
