BioWare turns up heat on Star Wars MMO
Company CEO describes Old Republic as "best thing BioWare's ever done"
BioWare, the EA-owned company behind Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, has released a documentary on the production for its forthcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, claiming that the game will be the "best thing" that the company has ever made.
That's according to BioWare co-founder and general manager/CEO Ray Muzyka, who also explained how the game will be different to other titles in the genre.
"What we're doing is taking some of the best of breed features from other MMOs - exploration, combat and progression, we're not losing any of those - instead what we're doing is adding a fourth pillar, the pillar of story and character," he explained.
"I think it's going to be the best thing BioWare's ever done, and we're really excited about it."
And James Ohlen, creative director and lead designer on the project, revealed the size of the project.
"This game is so huge, it's got such a giant scope. This game has got more content than any BioWare game we've created put together."
The game will be set in the Star Wars universe, around 1000 years before the rise of Darth Vader, but no release date has yet been specified.
