The new GamesIndustry.biz is here!

A letter from the editor about our brand-new look

If you're reading this right now you've come across the newly redesigned GamesIndustry.biz. Congratulations! Yes, I'm congratulating you because as much as I'd like to pat myself and our whole team on the back, this redesign is more about you, the readers.

One of the key pieces of feedback we took to heart when we conducted our reader survey a while back was that the website felt outdated. That was spot-on, and our mission from that point forward was to ensure we could provide a new, streamlined format that looked like a 2016 publication, but also one that made our content more accessible to you and put our best foot forward.

Not only has every page been given an overhaul, but we've made sure to minimize any news that's less important while giving proper attention to the big stories that truly matter. And unlike past touch-ups to the newsletter (which, if you don't get it, you should subscribe to here), the new design is all encompassing, bringing the new look and flow to our daily mail and the mobile edition of the website. Moreover, should you be interested in a different level of news and feature curation, we'll be offering weekly newsletters that focus on key subjects like mobile, VR/AR, etc.

The new design comes hot on the heels of our editorial expansion, with the recent hires of world-class editors Chris Dring and James Batchelor, and complements our broadened editorial remit to write not just about the business of making games, but the entirety of what goes into the complex art that is game development.

While we continue to talk to the top executives at all the major game companies, we want the solo or two-man indie team to feel just as welcomed by the new GamesIndustry.biz. So if you're a developer with tips on level design, for example, or best practices on using an engine like Unity, or an engineer that wants to explain the technical side of why Scorpio's power matters, we're happy to have those discussions. As our tagline indicates, we're "The resource for people who make and sell games." Don't hesitate to get in touch with the editorial team at news@gamesindustry.biz.

I'm immensely proud of the Gamer Network design team that rebuilt GamesIndustry.biz and I thank them for their efforts. I hope you'll enjoy reading the content on the new site as much as we enjoy writing it for you. Should you encounter any bugs despite the stellar work of our designers, please do let us know about it by emailing contact@gamesindustry.biz.

Thanks for your continued support,

James Brightman
